香港城市大学(简称“城大”)是香港特别行政区政府资助的八所大专院校之一，是一所年轻向上、富于进取的国际化多科性大学。大学恪守「敬业乐群」之校训，致力提供专业教育及从事应用研究，每年为约25,000名学生提供超过180项不同层次及专业的优质本科及研究学位课程。建校至今，城大已建立了其富有特色的校园文化，发展为尊重学术自由、重视学术成就、学术氛围浓厚的大学。大学现设有商学院、人文及社会科学学院、科学及工程学院、创意媒体学院和法律学院
一所高度国际化的大学
城大拥有一支雄厚的、具有国际教育和教学背景的师资力量。在现有约1,100位分别来自25个国家的教师中，当中包括1位菲尔兹奖及沃尔夫奖得主、8位世界级院士、58位讲座教授、逾500名持有海外知名学府的博士学位、150名曾于海外的大学长期担任专职教研工作。
城大教学理念与方法国际化，教学语言为英语，实施研讨式教学，采用学分制。课程内容突出理论联系实际，课程设计与时俱进，强调与国际社会及市场接轨，注重市场导向和就业前景。
城大全方位地拓展对外交流，发展各种形式的合作关系，迄今已与41个国家和地区约290所高校和科研机构建立了460多项合作交流项目。城大学生可以参加学生交换计划、暑期交流访问及实习。
一所属于香港、面向大中华的大学

(1)城大于2005年9月与深圳市政府签约，正式入驻国家大学科技园「香港院校产学研基地」，并成立城大深圳研究院，作为在内地发展应用研究、孕育产业项目和推动教学培训的据点；
(2)中国科学技术大学香港城市大学联合高等研究中心(苏州)于2005年10月在苏州工业园区正式运作，两校联合培养硕士和博士生项目正在运作之中；
(3)城大于2008年获国家科技部批准，成立毫米波国家重点实验室，成为香港首家在工程领域的国家重点实验室。
(4)城大于2005年获教育部列入国家第一批录取重点高校名单，按照内地重点高校招生的程序和办法招收内地优秀高中毕业生。四年来，分别在北京、上海、江苏、浙江、山东、福建、广东、湖北、湖南、重庆、四川、天津、辽宁、广西、陕西、河南、海南、云南、贵州、江西、安徽、山西、吉林、河北和黑龙江25个省市录取了782名内地优秀高中毕业生。
